ICAM-1 (Intra-Cellular Adhesion Molecule-1) – Chemiluminescence

Analyte: Intra-Cellular Adhesion Molecule-1
Specimen Type: Serum
Optimum Volume: 0.4 mL
Reporting Units: pg/mL
Method: Chemiluminescence
2-8°C 3 days
-20°C 3 months
-70°C 3 months

Biological or Clinical Significance:

ICAM-1 (Intercellular Adhension Molecule 1), also known as CD54, binds the leukocyte integrins LFA-1 and Mac-1. The primary function of ICAM-1 is to provide adhesion between endothelial cells and leukocytes after stress or injury. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of adhension molecules.

Principle of Test Method:

The ICAM-1 assay is a chemiluminescent immunoassay. Assay Range: 7.8 – 8,000 pg/mL.
